Welcome to Chattogram City App ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play Store.
By downloading, installing, or using the Chattogram City App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our application.
Our app is a city information directory for Chattogram (Chittagong), Bangladesh, providing access to local services including hospitals, restaurants, hotels, jobs, doctors, ambulances, transport, and more.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Phone Number: Required for account registration and OTP-based login/verification.
- Full Name: Provided during profile setup, used to personalize your account.
- Email Address: Optional; used for account recovery and communications.
- Profile Photo: Optional; an image you choose to upload for your profile.
- Address/Location: Provided when submitting listings (businesses, services) or when searching for nearby services.
- Content You Submit: Information you submit for listings such as hospital details, job postings, restaurant info, photos, and other city service data.
- Payment Information: When purchasing a subscription, payment is processed through UddoktaPay. We do not store raw payment card data; only transaction references and metadata.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- App Usage Data: Features used, pages viewed, and interaction patterns within the app.
- Network Information: IP address and mobile network information.
- Log Data: Error logs and performance data to help us identify and fix issues.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the service: Create and manage your account, authenticate your identity via OTP, and deliver the city information services.
- Display city service listings: Show hospital, doctor, restaurant, hotel, job, and other local listings to users.
- Process payments: Handle subscription payments through UddoktaPay for premium listing features.
- Send notifications: OTP messages for login, account updates, and important service notifications.
- Improve the app: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, improve features, and enhance user experience.
- Verify user identity: Confirm phone numbers and prevent fraudulent accounts.
- Communicate with you: Respond to support requests and inquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations: Meet applicable laws and regulations in Bangladesh.
4. Third-Party Services
Our app uses the following third-party services that may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies:
Google Play Services
Provides app distribution, updates, and in-app billing infrastructure. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
UddoktaPay (Payment Gateway)
Processes subscription payments. Payment data is handled by UddoktaPay's secure systems. We receive transaction confirmation and reference IDs only. See UddoktaPay for their data practices.
YouTube API
Used to display video content (films, tutorials, and entertainment) within the app using YouTube video IDs. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
Volley (HTTP Library)
An Android networking library used for API communication. No independent data collection.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., hosting, payment processing) under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Public Listings: Information you voluntarily submit as a public listing (e.g., business name, address, phone) is displayed publicly within the app for all users to view.
- Legal Compliance: If required by applicable law, court order, or government authority in Bangladesh or elsewhere.
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred, with notice provided to you.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Storage: Your data is stored on secured servers. Server-side data is accessible only to authorized personnel.
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Access Control: Server access is restricted and protected by authentication mechanisms.
- Retention: We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
- Security Limitations: While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Account Deletion and Data Removal
You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
How to Delete Your Account:
- Send an email to support@chattogramcity.online with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
- Include your registered phone number in the email
- We will process your request within 30 days
Note: Deletion will remove your personal profile data and account credentials. Public listings you submitted may be retained in anonymized or removed form. Payment records may be retained for legal/accounting compliance as required by Bangladesh law.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information. You can update most information within the app's profile settings.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data (see Section 7).
- Opt-Out: Uninstalling the app stops further data collection. You can revoke app permissions (camera, storage) through your device settings.

9. Children's Privacy
Chattogram City App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
- We will notify users through the app or via the phone number/email on file.
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
